Why would I  create a website about Samba?
What does a white man from Italy  knows about Brazil?  About the Favela?

In 2026 I wrote a fictional novel called “The Divine Voice of the Favela”

Actually I should say that it was not intentional writing, but it came as a channeling.

The circumstances: as I had been accused of domestic violence by my Brazilian wife of 4 years, and had been robbed of all assets of the USA Brazil radio station I financed, I was quite devasted.

At 71 years old, I just found myself asking: Am I a fool? And the answer came out loud and clear. YES! I asked my friends and all said: Yes, you are a fool.

A disclaimer:  Heli Paulino Souza Calvenzani is not from the Favela. 
I am more of a favela guy, from the  Caruggi” by the Genoa port of Italy. Where  and when I dreamed of faraway lands.

I grew up amongst revolts in the streets, heroin killing my friends, political parties bombing innocent people,  judges.

That is why I feel close to the poor people, those who are the blood that make the city run. Samba is their Oxigen. God is in their heart. The Orixas are watching.
